OMRRA Racers Playing on a Private Track Day

For the second time this year, I reserved the MAC Track for an invitation only day with some of my OMRRA racing friends which included Jeremy Coffey, Adolfo Valdovinos, Alex Taylor, Kumpy Kump, Bill Youngblood (TURN3 Racing), and Pearce Lutz (TURN3 Racing and Lutz Racing). Lori Lulay was our only photography for the day, but she did a great job covering our play day.

We ran the MAC Track CCW the first half of the day, then we ran it CW the second half. A mix of experience was on display - from very experienced racer on this track (Alex Taylor), experienced racer but first day on this track (Kumpy Kump), one of the fastest guys at the top level (Jeremy Coffey), to track day rider with first season on this track (Larry Lulay). Some of our OMRRA 600 Novice guys were there riding as well (Pearce Lutz and Bill Youngblood), and Jeffrey Toevs hung out with us. Thank God Adolfo Valdovinos showed up with his Z125... he was so cool letting others ride his bike at the track and giving us some great photo ops... plus he was willing to sacrafice his GoPro on the track for some cool ride bys.

We compiled the on board cameras from three of the bikes at MEGA MAC 2 into a single one lap comparison. It features Alex Taylor (a top OMRRA racer with multiple years experience on MAC), Kumpy Kump (a top OMRRA racer his first day at MAC), and Larry Lulay (a track day rider in first year at MAC). These were random samples (not necessarily their fastest laps), but give a nice comparison.

Adolfo was so generous, letting folks take turns trying out his bike. His Z125 was a HUGE hit, and everybody had a blast... although it cost him a lot of track time. He even helped out with some cool GoPro footage.

Alex Taylor rocked this track. I first met him when he came out at PIR in the middle of a session to let me know I accidentally took my R3 out in the A group... then he promptly showed me the adjusted 300 lines for PIR when you ride with fast bikes. He knows how to totally maximize a track day... by being on the track all day!

Bill was the first person to come and give me some one-on-one instruction on the Mac Track and helped me out a lot. BTW: if you hadn't noticed, he interviews for RDR when I'm not at the track.

Jeremy came to watch, but happened to have his gear... just in case a bike was available... thanks Adolfo! Jeremy demonstrated why he is at the top of the NW motorcycle food chain.

This was Kump's first time at the Mac Track, but when you ride like he does you learn to adapt quickly. Because I'm new to this seen, I didn't realize that he is too and this is his first year up here after moving from down south. Take some time to meet him at the track, he's a nice guy and great addition.

Pearce rode everything he could get his hands on - but mostly his 600, which is a beast of a work out to ride on this track... and he was on the track all day. Also worth noting is that he had just pulled an all nighter shift and still came over to ride with us!
